Harald van der Weel

Harald van der Weel is a senior Business Process Management (BPM) Consultant working for SynTouch in the Netherlands. Besides contributing to several BPM and Case Management implementations Van der Weel has worked as Enterprise Architect and carried out studies on meta-models of BPM architectures. Since graduating at Fontys University in Eindhoven he has worked as an employee for Philips, IBM and Ciber in the fields of System Integration, Business Intelligence, BPM and Business / Enterprise Architecture.

Harald has started his career as a developer, and through the roles of functional and business analyst, requirements engineer, scrum master, quality officer and architect he has developed into a complete professional with experience in the entire software development lifecycle. Van der Weel has successfully contributed to projects across multiple industries including manufacturing and distribution, financial services, insurance, construction, high-tech, telecom, healthcare and government. Besides completing additional studies like “Apics CPIM” and “Business science for IT” Harald is certified in various areas like Architecture (SOA and TOGAF), several BPM products, methods (IT Quality, TMAP, ITIL, RUP and Prince II) and languages (Java and ArchiMate).

At SynTouch Van der Weel is currently responsible for the BPM-practice, strategy, business development and knowledge management. Because of his broad technical experience and business knowledge he has taken up the responsibility in many projects to bridge the gap between the business and IT practices. Ever since performing the roles of Enterprise Architect Harald has focused on alignment between Business and IT and on targeted solutions consisting of IT assets that directly contribute to clear business value.
